HOW TO PROTECTS INSTAGRAM FROM HACKERS

Reasons Why Hackers Seek Instagram Accounts

Let’s examine some of the reasons that hackers are after your Instagram account before going any further in giving you advice on defending against this.

People Diligently Use Instagram in the following ways:

  • They want followers and engagement.

  • They want to run scams.

  • They want to sell hacked accounts.

  • They want to get access to the email, or bank account associated with your Instagram account.

  • They want to use your personal photos inappropriately.

Your account is appealing to a hacker if you have many followers; however, any Instagram account makes an appealing target to a hacker.

1. Use instagram Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication is the most important step  protecting your Instagram account.

Here’s How To Enable 2-Factor Authentication:

1. Log on to Instagram.

2. Locate the Settings and Privacy page.

3. Select the Accounts Center option.

4. Click on the Password and Security

5. Click on the Two-Factor Authentication

2. Create A Unique & Strong Password

What includes creating a strong password?

A strong password means you should not use weak passwords like;

  • 1234567
  • password
  • yourname123
  • yourbirthyear

A strong password is when you create a password using a combination of the following

          •  Uppercase Letters
          •  Lowercase Letters
          •  Numbers
            •  Special Characters

Never Share Your Login Codes or Links.

Hackers frequently send fake messages like:

1. Your account blocked/suspended.

2. You have many violated copyright.

3. To verify your instagram account.

4. Review Your Login Activity Consistently.

Instagram allows you to check where you are logged into your account. To access this information:

  •  Go to your settings.

  •  Select “Password/Security”.

  •  Select “Login Activity”.

If you see a login from an unknown source or device, you must log out on your end immediately of every device that is logged on with your account. Personally, I check my login activity every two weeks and it takes less than a minute to do.

5. Make Your Account Private

If your account is a private account rather than a public page or business account AND your concern is that your account might be hacked, you should set your account to private. If your account is set to private, only those people who have been approved by you will be able to view the posts that you make. In addition to you having the ability to approve your followers, it reduces the likelihood of being targeted by unknown people.

6.Suspicious Third-Party Apps.

Many apps promise you things for free… such as:

1.Free followers.

2. Free likes.
