Method 1: Obtain Your Data from Instagram 

          Downloading the app is the most reliable way to obtain your data on Instagram. Instagram allows its users to download every data associated with their accounts to include the information in the following sections:

Method 2: Ask to Have The Information Sent to You

Method 3: Check Your Facebook Account If You Have Linked Accounts

                   If your Instagram account is linked to your Facebook account there is a chance for you to retrieve lost messages created through the service at least some of which may be stored within the application itself.

                   By checking Facebook for the sections containing message requests or archived messages you may find some of your chats still remain.


Method 4: Check the Archives

                   To check your archive; go to Instagram DM page and search through the person’s name. Keep scrolling until you can find the conversation you're searching for. If you find the conversation you're searching for means that the messages were only archived - they haven't been deleted from your DMs.
