What Features are Removed with Latest Update
2.Your phone model.
Recently, after an update to the Google Phone app, missing some features.
1. Call Recording Announcements Changed
In earlier versions of the app, when you started recording a phone call, it would state: “This phone call is currently being recorded.”
Currently, call recording has either:
Been entirely removed from some regions
Or, there are restrictions on using recorded calls.
Many people in India are confused because call recording is already very common in India for both business and personal safety reasons.
2. Automatic Call Recording Lost for Certain Models
Previously a number of phones would allow automatic call recording for all calls. Following the new update, those options have been taken away from some devices.
I have a colleague who noticed the absence of the recording option on his Motorola device after updating the app, so he was convinced he had a defective phone!
3. Third-Party Calls Apps Blocked
Most call-recording apps are unable to function as intended anymore.
Many of the third-party applications can only record the user's end but do not record the other party's end.
What's the Google Taking Certain Features?
There are several reasons why Google is changing the way it handles recording calls.
First, there is privacy and legal compliance.
Different countries have different laws against recording calls without the other person's permission.
Because of these different laws, Google has made changes to ensure the following;
To protect users' privacy.
To comply with different regulations around the world.
To reduce abuse, or the misuse of recorded calls.
Although this decision may be pulled by law, many users in India feel that the changes are not going to help them and are an inconvenience.
Will Call Recording be Deleted Forever?
No, the call recording feature will not be permanently deleted.
The call recording feature will continue to be available depending on:
1.Your country.
2.Your phone model.
3. Your Android version.
4. Carrier restrictions.
